28. Brooklyn Nets – Usman Garuba, F, Spain

Usman Garuba is somewhat of an unknown heading into the 2021 NBA Draft but could emerge as a late first-round selection for any team that has the luxury of taking a swing here. The Brooklyn Nets are the exact definition of that.

Garuba could be seen as a Draymond Green type, considering that he’s a bit undersized for the position that he’ll likely play in the NBA. Still, he’s considered one of the best defensive prospects and might be the best one on that end of the floor.

Garuba is an extremely raw prospect and will need a year or two, at least, of developing before he makes any type of impact in the NBA. The Nets could draft him and bring him along slowly.
