2017-18 MVP- James Harden’s first MVP
That’s two MVPs. So doesn’t that mean he should have three? No, the 2017-18 MVP that James Harden finally won, actually belongs to LeBron James. The 2017-18 season LeBron James put together is the best season I’ve ever seen a person player play. The 2017-18 season is reminiscent of the ’07 season that LeBron put together when he took the least talented team ever to the Finals and eventually getting swept by the Spurs.
Harden’s numbers are better, and the Rockets put together an insane regular season, so I’m somewhat on an island when I talk about LeBron having an MVP over James for this season. Here’s the case for Lebron that season, the world is expecting LeBron James to be the best player in the world. He’s known as the best player of this generation by most. He raised the bar even for himself, he exceeded expectations when expectations were already at a bar that his peers have yet to reach.
Plus, Chris Paul is very much responsible for the Rockets success that season. I think it’s unfair to give all the credit to James Harden when Chris Paul came on the scene and took them to another level. Similar to what he’s doing now in Phoenix.
So there it is, James Harden should have two MVPs. The 2014-15 season and the 2016-17 season.
