Why we need the Golden State Warriors back in the playoffs: This is a team that could pull off an upset

Objectively, even if the Golden State Warriors enter as the 8-seed in the Western Conference, would anyone be willing to count out Stephen Curry in a seven-game series? Even after as good as the Utah Jazz or Phoenix Suns have looked all season long, I wouldn’t count out the Warriors as a team that could pull off an upset against either one of those teams.

Even more so if James Wiseman could somehow make it back for the playoffs. But even if he couldn’t, Curry is good enough of a player that could change the series single-handedly. Curry is averaging 31 points, six rebounds, and six assists per game this season. Over the past seven games, he’s taken his game to another level.

During those last seven games, Curry is averaging 40 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game on 57 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent shooting from 3-point range. Curry is on a mission and appears to have flipped the switch on his individual game.

And you’re willing to count out this man in a seven-game series against a less experienced team such as the Jazz or Suns? Go ahead.
