Reasons for optimism for the Washington Wizards: Another top 10 draft pick will be on the way

Even if the Washington Wizards fail to make the playoff play-in tournament, there’s always one thing that they can fall back on heading into the offseason. And it’s the fact that another top 10 draft pick will be on the way. As it currently stands, it seems that the Wizard will fall in the 5-9 range of drafting (depending on how the remainder of the season and draft lottery shakes out).

In what many are predicting to be a draft class that is better than the one we saw in 2020, the Wizards will have a prime pick. They should be able to get a solid prospect even late in the top 10 and possibly one with a higher ceiling than any other prospect that the Wizards currently have on its roster at the moment.

If the Wizards are hoping to build something that’s sustainable, the easiest way to do that is through the draft.

The Washington Wizards may end up falling short of their goals heading into this season (making the playoffs, which is an assumption) but there is still plenty to be optimistic about heading into the future.
