With the NBA playoffs on the horizon, we explore four potential first-round playoff matchups we should all be rooting for.

Generally speaking, the first round of the NBA playoffs is most often more chalk than anything. The better or higher seeds usually win and have their way with the lower seeds, but, in such an unprecedented (and shortened) season, I can’t help but feel like this year’s playoffs could be a bit different.

With the NBA playoffs around the corner, and with less than 20 regular-season games remaining, I can’t help but wonder what type of matchups that we could be in for in the first round. Because of more crowded standings in both conferences, after the top 3, we could also be in for some interesting matchups that perhaps we’re not normally used to seeing in the first round.

That could open the door for interesting storylines, narratives, and, what fans often root for the most, the opportunity for early-round upsets. As the favorites begin to put their finishing touches on their playoff rosters and rotations, here are four potential first-round playoff matchups that we should all be rooting for.
