Why the Boston Celtics can make a deep run in the playoffs: The continued rise of their dynamic duo

What has been lost in Boston’s delayed start to the season has been the play of both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The Celtics’ two best young players and cornerstones of their roster are in the midst of career years.

Tatum and Brown have both grown this season and are have the best seasons of their career thus far. Tatum is averaging 26 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. Brown has been almost equally as impressive and is averaging 25 points, six rebounds, and three assists on 49 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from 3-point range.

To be successful in the NBA playoffs, you need star talent. Generally speaking, teams with identified stars are the ones that are successful. Tatum and Brown have both grown into stars and are now budding superstars. The Celtics have the pieces in place to make a deep playoff run. Now, they just have to…do it.
