The Miami Heat may have found their backup big

It may seem as if a bit of an overreaction, but it appears that the Miami Heat has found its backup big. For much of the season, this team had struggled to find a consistent backup to Bam Adebayo. Though, in arguably the team’s biggest game of the season, it appears as if the Heat found one.

Dewayne Dedmon played only 15 minutes, but he played a big role for the team – even though he was a team-worst -7. Dedmon finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.

It wouldn’t be fair to expect Dedmon to average a double-double in 15 minutes every game, but if he can give the team productive minutes in spurts for the rest of the season, it would give the Heat another body that could spell Adebayo and another option to matchup in a potential series with Joel Embiid.
