Why Nikola Jokic should win the NBA MVP: He’s changing the game and will leave an imprint in league history
Even though not many casual fans know the name Nikola Jokic, there’s a very good chance that we are watching history being made at the center position. As the NBA quickly makes the transition to a more perimeter game, I’m not sure we can overlook the fact that Jokic might actually be changing the future at the center position.
Jokic might not have the athleticism or the defensive prowess that many other of the modern bigs have in today’s NBA, but he’s proving to be the exception – and that exception being an extremely talented offensive, versatile big.

We’re seeing the future at the position in real-time as many bigs (or centers, specifically) are being schemed off the floor in key moments of games. Nikola Jokic has been the exception for years and in the best season of his career thus far, I have a feeling he’s going to be rewarded for the imprint that he’s already made in the NBA.
