The biggest Western Conference threats to the Brooklyn Nets: LA Clippers

While the Lakers will be a challenge for the Nets, they are not the only threat from Los Angeles that could topple the newest super team. The Clippers have been a solid team for years, however with the tandem of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, they are now a championship contender.

With a supporting cast featuring great role players such as Serge Ibaka, Patrick Beverly, Marcus Morris, Rajon Rondo, Luke Kennard, and DeMarcus Cousins, the Clippers look ripe to make a deep run into the playoffs, which could lead them to an encounter with Brooklyn.

The edge the Clippers will have over the Nets is their defense, as both their stars in Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are lockdown defenders, making it a little easier for the Clippers to keep up with the Nets on the offensive end. George’s and Leonard’s All-Defensive skills will make it tough for Brooklyn’s superstars to get going.

The offensive prowess of the Clippers will also be a problem for the Nets, who are a struggling defensive team. George’s recent offensive spurts added with the Clippers being the best 3-point shooting team in the league (shooting 41.9% from beyond the arc this season) also makes them a handful for the woeful Brooklyn defense.
