LeBron James reminds the league that his return is coming, and coming soon.

To begin the week, LeBron James posted a 66-second video of himself lightly jogging in a gym where he then transitions to catching a pass before closing the video at the basket with a layup.

We all know how dramatic James can be on-and-off the court, and this hype video serves as more proof of that.

This video is far more than hype for James’ upcoming return to his throne. This video feels like a warning for the entire NBA but, more importantly, to the contenders in the Western Conference.

No one doubts that James will be ready for the playoffs no matter what seed the Los Angeles Lakers end up as. To some, this video might seem pointless but having watched James’ career unfold over the past 18 years this is not shocking. There should be no concern with James upon his return.

Now his [James] co-star, on the other hand, Anthony Davis, is another issue. Davis returned from a calf strain and Achilles tendinosis in his right leg over the weekend and played 28 minutes while scoring 17 points in a 108-93 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

The rust Davis was looking to shake off was quite apparent during his time on the floor. Davis was just 5-19 shooting on the night and looked out of sorts the entire game. Davis struggled to find his rhythm on this night, but luckily he has time to find it over the last few weeks of the regular season.

While James remains the most important piece to the Lakers’ championship puzzle, a less than 100 percent Davis will make navigating through the western conference playoffs far more difficult in their quest to repeat.

If Davis can get back in sync in time for the playoffs coupled with a returning healthy King James, there isn’t a team in the West that can beat these Lakers in a seven-game series.
