Identifying the ideal team fits for each of the top 10 prospects in the 2021 NBA Draft.

The 2021 NBA Draft is still a few months away, but as the regular season winds down the interest and intrigue surrounding this year’s class are only going to grow. In what many predict will be one of the better drafts in recent history, we explore ideal team fits for each of the top 10 prospects.

NBA Draft fits: 1. Cade Cunningham, G, Oklahoma State

Ideal landing spot: Minnesota Timberwolves

It’s safe to say that Cade Cunningham is the unanimous No. 1 overall prospect heading into the 2021 NBA pre-draft process. He’s likely going to be the No. 1 overall pick but if there is a team that he should be hoping to land with, it’s the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As strange as it sounds, he’d be able to join a team with talent and a defined star in Karl-Anthony Towns. Cunningham wouldn’t have the pressure to be the No.1 option right away and should he grow into that, it’d just be a welcomed addition to the team’s young talent.

Whether he plays the 1, 2, or 3, the Wolves would need head coach Chris Finch to find a way to make it all work. And that’d really be the key here. Though, who wouldn’t want to see a potential lineup of D’Angelo Rusell, Anthony Edwards, Cunningham, Towns, and a filler at the 4 or 5?
