NBA Draft fits: 2. Jalen Green, G, G League

Ideal landing spot: Detroit Pistons

This landing spot would be something that would both benefit the Detroit Pistons and Jalen Green. This prospect is one of the most athletic players in this draft class and is often characterized as “a highlight waiting to happen.” He averaged 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent shooting from 3-point range during his one season in the G League.

He’d have the spotlight in Detroit as being the team’s No. 1 building block heading into the future and would help bring intrigue and excitement to a city that hasn’t had it at the NBA level in a very long time.

Green needs time to develop but even his decision to go the G League route instead of the college route suggests that he’s somewhat of a trailblazer. He’d without question welcome an opportunity to be the savior for Detroit basketball.
