NBA Draft fits: 8. Scottie Barnes, G, Florida State

Ideal landing spot: New Orleans Pelicans

It’s tough to project what Scottie Barnes will be in the NBA, especially considering he didn’t play a huge role for Florida State during his lone season. Whether he translates as a guard or a wing, they’ll be a role for him to fill for a team like the New Orleans Pelicans.

Barnes will likely draw comparisons to any big guard or any versatile wing that will be able to guard multiple positions. That’s what makes him such an intriguing prospect; he’ll be a defensive weapon for any team that selects him.

He still has some room to grow as an offensive player but on a team like the Pelicans, that won’t be a huge ask. Stick Barnes next to Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, and this is a team and a defensive front that you don’t want to face.
