17. Houston Rockets (via Miami) – Josh Giddey, G, Australia

It might be a bit surprising to see Josh Giddey being taken at No. 17 overall by the Houston Rockets, and there’s likely a chance that he’s going to rise up the draft boards over the next few weeks, but if he’s there this late in the first round he’s absolutely going to be the steal of the draft.

Giddey is an interesting prospect out of Australia that is considered a good playmaker for his size. He’s 6-foot-8 and still growing into his frame but he has the potential to be an elite offensive player at the next level.

During this past season, Giddey averaged 11 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds per game on 31 percent shooting from 3-point range. If he can prove that he can hit a consistent jump shot, his ceiling could be as high as some of the top draft picks in this class.
