6. Detriot Pistons – Jalen Johnson, F, Duke

Selecting sixth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft would not be an ideal situation for a team such as the Detroit Pistons, who would be in search of the best player available. And what many expect to be a top-three or four draft, being No. 6 is just bad luck of the draw.

That said, if you are a team like the Pistons and have fallen out of the top five, it would only make sense for this team to take a player with a high ceiling and bet on someone’s long-term potential. An ideal selection for this team at this point in the draft would be Jalen Johnson.

Even though Johnson left a bit to be desired during his freshman season at Duke, he has the size, tools, athleticism, and potential that should have a team like to Detroit Pistons ready to take a risk.
