New York Knicks playoff expectations: Be competitive

There’s nothing that would throw a cold bucket of water on this season more than bowing out in embarrassing fashion in the first round of the playoffs. The Knicks have had a great regular season, becoming relevant once again in the East, but it’s important that they follow that up with a competitive playoff run.

The Knicks can’t make the playoffs, especially as a 4 or 5 seed, and then proceed to be swept out in a short fashion. After the season that his team had, that would be quite a sad way for this season to end. The good news is that I don’t think that will happen.

This team has enough veterans on the roster where they won’t let it happen. Even though Randle and Barrett have never made the playoffs in their young careers, they have a support group on the roster that will help them navigate through the learning curve that will ensue over the next few weeks.

That’s where, possibly, the likes of Derrick Rose and Thibodeau will pay off most.
