NBA Draft prospect: Franz Wagner, Michigan

If there’s any team looking for a prospect that has the ability to do a little of everything and one that can fill the void left for a versatile big man or even one that would work as a point forward, Franz Wagner should be the target.

Wagner is a 6-foot-9 forward that proved he can be a good playmaker and a defensive contributor. He also showed flashes of being a strong scorer, while also being a good rebounder. Wagner averaged 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists on 48 percent shooting from the field overall and 34 percent shooting from 3-point range during his sophomore season at Michigan.

My one concern with Wagner is that I don’t believe he doesn’t anything particularly great. At least for me, that’s the biggest reason why I don’t believe he’ll be a star at the next level. And that’s OK. Not every player selected in the top 10 or lottery has to be a star. He could be a really good player, and possibly right away. Wagner may not have star potential, however.
