NBA Play-In possible outcomes: The Warriors get matched up with the most top West seed

Whether that’s the Utah Jazz or Phoenix Suns, I’m not sure there would be a better outcome from the NBA’s Play-In Tournament than Stephen Curry having the task of trying to beat one of the favorites in the conference the first round of the playoffs.

Curry is playing at a high level and will be a threat against any team in the first round. Though, how interesting would it be if the Warriors drew a vulnerable top seed? Curry, playing at an MVP level, squaring off against Chris Paul and Devin Booker or Donovan Mitchell in the first round? Sign me up.

This is something that is likely to happen, but if you give Curry and the Warriors a shot in the first round and this potential series gets that much more interesting. I just want to see Curry with a puncher’s chance of upsetting one of the top two seeds in the West. And that only happens if the Warriors are matched up with the one team that is more vulnerable.

If I had to bet right now, that would probably be the Suns. That means the Warriors would have to earn the 7th seed, by beating the Lakers in the first leg of the play-in tournament.
