12. San Antonio Spurs – Josh Giddey, F, Australia

The San Antonio Spurs had an admirable showing in the NBA’s Play-In Tournament, but this is officially going to be the second-straight season in which they don’t qualify for the playoffs. It’s time for a rebuild.

There might not be a better player for the Spurs to really jump-start their rebuild at this point in the lottery than Josh Giddey. He’s drawn comparisons to Ben Simmons and is a prospect that comes with promise, but there’s simply no guarantee that he’ll be able to live up to those lofty expectations.

Giddey has great size, is a good playmaker that might be a top 5 passer in the league as soon as he steps onto the court, and will have the ability to be a good and versatile defender. What better place for his development than in San Antonio?
