5. Oklahoma City Thunder – Jalen Green, G, G League

I’m not sure if Jalen Green is the “best-projected offensive player” in this draft but he might very well be. That said, he’d be an ideal fit next to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has shown promise through the first couple of seasons in the league.

Green averaged 18 points on 37 percent shooting from 3-point range during this past season in the G League. He’s also a great athlete and should translate as a good defender. There is a lot to like about Green’s game, but still plenty of questions that prevent him from being a top 3 pick.

Green is the type of prospect that could end up being the best player from this draft class or also one that you look back on in 5-6 years confused why he didn’t pan out as a star in the league. The Thunder should absolutely take the risk.
