Best Tuesday performances in the NBA Playoffs, No. 1: Luka Doncic

Special Consideration: N/A – Luka was incredible

The easiest way to say this is just that Luka Doncic is the baddest dude on the planet. I’m not sure I’d rather have anyone other than maybe LeBron as the leader on my team. I’m kicking myself for picking the LA Clippers to win this series in six games in one of my previous pieces for this first-round match-up.

Luka was playing the game today like he was the 8th grader playing against a bunch of 6th graders in PE class. The best example was from the end of the quarter, Dallas was in a 2-for-1 situation and Luka chucks up a 30-footer off one leg, nothin’ but nylon.

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue had Kawhi match up with him one on one in the halfcourt a few times, didn’t matter. We even saw Luka posterize somebody today, he doesn’t ever dunk. Once I saw the dunk I just said to myself “Okay, here comes another classic Luka performance in Game 2 against the Clippers.”

We all remember last year’s Game 2 in the Bubble, where Luka nailed the game-winning shot at the buzzer. I would put this performance up against that one. Although a buzzer-beater to win the game is more iconic, this performance from Tuesday night was so dominant, I feel like this year’s Game 2 performance was more impressive.

The Mavericks take a 2-0 series lead as they head back home for games 3-4 after Luka gave them 39 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds, what a player. Wow.
