New York Knicks: 4 heroes who helped spark a comeback win in Game 2

New York Knicks’ heroes of Game 2: Reggie Bullock
Last but certainly not least, Reggie Bullock, who didn’t hit a 3 in Game 1, came out like a man on fire. He finished the game with 15 points on 5-8 shooting and 4-7 from distance. The Knicks desperately needed what Bullock brings to the table and that is hitting 3’s and playing tough defense.
Bullock would hit pivotal game-changing 3’s in both the third and fourth quarters. But what may have changed the tides for this team, down eight points in the third quarter, was the flagrant foul he placed on DeAndre Hunter of the Hawks. Bullock would shoulder check Hunter right on the sideline as if to say “enough is enough!”
Right from the playbook of the old school 90’s Knicks teams, the Garden crowd went into a frenzy and applauded the toughness shown in a league that has become very docile when it comes to contact.
That flagrant may have single-handedly saved the Knicks’ entire postseason. If they go on to win this series, this could be pointed at as the moment when things all changed. The Hawks would go on to miss several shots, the Knicks defense as a whole went up a notch, and they would go on to make a run themselves and finally take the lead.
Bullock knew he had to play better after Game 1 and he did not disappoint. Consistency is going to be key for him going forward but at least in Game 2, he gave the team exactly what it needed at the right time.
