Josh Giddey is arguably the best international prospect in this class, and also could be one of the biggest enigmas in the class. He’s shot up draft boards in recent months due to franchises infatuation with his combination of size and playmaking for a potential lead guard.
Giddey’s got a great feel for the game and vision to go with pretty good finishing ability at the rim. His skill-set reminds me of Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio, except Giddey is 6-foot-8.
He finished with three triple-doubles in his 28 appearances for the Adelaide 36ers, tieing the mark for the most in an NBL season. Giddey will need to make leaps with his shooting and defensive ability to justify being selected in the top ten, but his versatility as a jumbo-sized lead guard playmaker should be too much for the team’s picking in the lottery to ultimately pass on.
