Greg Brown is another prospect that has boom or bust written all over him. And a big reason is that he’s going to need time to develop. Any team that selects him needs to understand that there’s a change Brown doesn’t contribute for 2-3 years. Still, the potential is there. Brown is a great athlete that flashed on both ends of the floor during his freshman season at Texas.
Brown isn’t a great or consistent shooter yet and most of his offense leans on his athleticism at the moment, but he did shoot 33 percent from 3 at Texas which suggests there’s at least a starting point for a potential consistent jumper. Brown is the type of talent that could pay off down the line, but certainly not someone that should be relied on right away.
If teams realize that, there’s no question he should be a first-round flier. With no expectations early, Brown could be a solid pick for any contender that isn’t looking for immediate help.
