38. Kessler Edwards, F, Pepperdine

Measurables: 6-foot-8, 215 pounds, 7-foot-1 wingspan

Class: Junior

Age: 20

Mike’s Ranking: Unranked

Evan’s Ranking: 37

Kessler Edwards seems to be a popular pick as one of the best sleepers in this class and for good reason. He averaged 17.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in his junior year at Pepperdine, jumping all over NBA scouts’ radar. His combination of shooting, scoring, and length as a swing forward reminds me of San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay.

Edwards has showcased flashes of intriguing shot creation at his size and his 39.5 career three-point shooting percentage is an indicator of his ability to at the very least be a stretch forward on the offensive end.

Defensively, Edwards could be a dynamo who provides tremendous switchability along the perimeter and the ability to guard multiple positions. He’ll be a high-quality player to add to a rotation and will be a great value pick in the second round.
