We did an in-depth breakdown of Johnson back in March, highlighting the similarities he has to former eight-time NBA All-Star guard Vince Carter. He’s one of the most explosive athletes and best above-the-rim finishers in this class, while also being an incredible defender. However, much of Johnson’s star potential comes from what he could become on the offensive end.
He will need to continue to improve his handling and shoot more efficiently from the three-point line to fulfill his offensive upside, Johnson only made 27 percent of his attempts from deep for the Volunteers this season. The mid-range and post-game he already possesses though combined with the flashes Johnson has shown as a playmaker should make him a lock to be picked in the top ten of this draft.
