Jonathan Kuminga is one of the most interesting prospects slated to be a top 10 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He’s one of the toughest prospects to project considering he skipped college and opted to play for the NBA G League Ignite team.

Still, in the limited post-high-school sample size, there’s a lot of promise on film. Kuminga has the potential to be a great, versatile defender at the next level. His physical tools and athletic ability will give him the potential to be a 1-5 defender at his peak in the NBA.

Offensively is where his biggest question marks lay. He only shot 25 percent from 3-point range in the G League bubble and has trouble creating his own shot at times. He leaves much to be desired as a playmaker and doesn’t project as a No. 1 offensive option in the NBA.

Still, Kuminga has the potential to be a really good player and one that plays a vital role for a playoff team down the line.
