Davion Mitchell shot up draft boards after having a stellar junior season that saw him be named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and lead Baylor to their first National Championship in program history.
His calling card is his defensive ability, he might be the most polished defender in this class. He’s a fiery pest in the best way who could be a culture changer and tone-setter defensively for a franchise.
The leaps Mitchell made offensively are why he’s being projected as a top 10 pick in this class. Team’s see the potential he has as a dynamite two-way lead guard who now has the shot-creation to run an NBA offense and the ability to shoot off the dribble to be a primary scoring option.
He’s one of the safer selections in this class and reminds me of a bigger, more physical version of Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry.
