What’s next for the New York Knicks?

With the New York Knicks‘ season-ending loss to the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night, die-hard fans already took Twitter by storm to discuss what’s next for this team. While they clearly overachieved this season, by grabbing 41 wins and the 4th seed in Eastern Conference, they were overmatched by a stacked Hawks team that finally hit their stride.

The Knicks’ motto entering the final stretch of the season was ‘we here,’ a moniker that followed them throughout the first round of the playoffs made infamous by Julius Randle. Given all the changes to the front office, coaching staff, roster, and the growth of Julius Randle as an all-star caliber player, this team is undoubtedly trending upward.

The Knicks will have plenty of cap space this offseason, four picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, and lots of young assets that can be used to upgrade this roster. So as the players get ready for their exit interviews and the rest of the NBA playoffs take place, let’s dissect what the Knicks have to do to take the next leap in their progression as a franchise.
