The New York Knicks need to add a lead star

While running away with the Most Improved Player award, Randle carried this team on his back much of the way. The Hawks were able to key in on Randle and double him consistently knowing that the Knicks didn’t have a second option that was as lethal as he was.

This series showed that not only does he need a co-star but that he’s probably not a true No. 1 option. Adding a star talent next to Randle is priority 1, 2, and 3.

The pipe dream this offseason is to sign Kawhi Leonard from the LA Clippers as a free agent as the Knicks will have a league leading $50-plus million in cap space. While Leonard is the true dominant star the Knicks desperately need, many believe he will re-sign with his hometown Clippers no matter the outcome of their current playoff run.

However, if they lose in the first round to the Dallas Mavericks, he may just change his mind.
