The Milwaukee Bucks’ depth edges out Brooklyn’s
For the sake of breaking down this series, let’s just say that Milwaukee’s and Brooklyn’s big three end up being a wash – and it might not end up that way, but just for the sake of argument. In that scenario, you have to like the Bucks’ depth more than Brooklyn’s.
The Bucks have had strong contributions this postseason from Brook Lopez, Bryn Forbes, and Bobby Portis. PJ Tucker has also been a great addition defensively, and will likely play a big role against the Nets in this series.
The loss of Donte DiVincenzo will certainly hurt, but the Bucks are deep enough where they could survive such a loss.
For the Nets, there are uncertainties. Jeff Green may not be healthy enough to start the series and his effectiveness could be in question throughout. Joe Harris has been a consistent fourth option for this team, but after that it’s been a tossup and a flat-out guessing game on who’s contributing on said night.
Give me Milwaukee’s supporting cast as they’ve had the third-highest bench scoring in the playoffs at 40 points per contest. On the other hand, the Nets have had the lowest scoring bench in the postseason, at 22 points per game.
