NBA Rumors: Heat, Knicks, and Spurs expected to pursue Kelly Oubre Jr.
NBA Rumors: Kelly Oubre Jr. expected to garner major free-agent interest.
Heading into the offseason, it’s expected that a player such as Kelly Oubre Jr. will garner plenty of interest. Even though he left a bit to be desired during this past season with the Golden State Warriors, Oubre was still extremely productive.
Before this past season, Oubre had the best season of his career thus far in which he averaged 19 points and six rebounds per game on 45 percent shooting and 35 percent shooting from 3-point range.
He saw a bit of a downtick in production and efficiency during this past season with Golden State, but at just 25 years old there’s a good chance that Oubre will be in for a pretty nice payday during the offseason.

According to a recent report, there is already a market for Oubre growing – even though we’re still a few months away from the actual start of free agency. The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and New York Knicks are three teams that are expected to be interested in Oubre this offseason.
"[via Yahoo]According to league sources, Miami, San Antonio and the New York Knicks are among the teams interested in Oubre in free agency, and it’s easy to see him at his best, fitting into those places."
Kelly Oubre Jr. could be a great addition to a playoff team
Oubre is coming off a season in which he somewhat struggled with his role with the Warriors but has shown value over the first few years of his career. Even though he may not ever be the star that many hoped he could develop into, he could carve out an important role for a really good team.
Oubre would be a great third or fourth-best player on a playoff team and could even help a team that is in need of depth at the wing position. If Oubre can find the right landing spot, there’s no reason to believe why he couldn’t get back to the level that he played at during his two seasons with the Suns.
This offseason should be an interesting one for several teams, including the ones that have already expressed interest in Oubre.
