Offseason trade targets for the Dallas Mavericks: C.J. McCollum

Even though the player that most competing teams will be trying to pry out of Portland is Damian Lillard, I believe C.J. McCollum might be the most available big-name player on that roster. If the Blazers truly want to shake up their roster during the offseason, they could be open to moving McCollum.

And if that ends up being the case, the Mavs should absolutely be interested. McCollum, a score-first guard, would be a great fit next to Doncic. Playing next to Lillard, McCollum already has experience with playing a heavy on-ball guard and would be that second option that he simply hasn’t had in Dallas.

A trade for McCollum would almost have to be of the three or multiple-team sorts, but it’s something that the Mavs should be all over if the opportunity presents itself during the offseason.
