What’s next for the Milwaukee Bucks after Kevin Durant’s Game 5 explosion?
A triple-double, consisting of 49 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists had Kevin Durant leading his Brooklyn Nets past the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of their semifinal series, giving Brooklyn a 3-2 lead.
In other words, Milwaukee is now backed up against the wall, is expected to respond to what was certainly the best individual showing the world has seen in this year’s playoffs.
Simply put, especially after Game 5, you can’t but feel as if the Bucks are done. Everything has gone right for them so far in their series with Brooklyn, including two costly injuries being dealt to a pair of their foe’s most elite talents, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, respectively. Still, the Nets have found a way to get within one win from winning this series.

Despite the fact that Game 6 is in Milwaukee, there is surely no way that they have the momentum to stretch this affair any further.
And it’s not as if the Bucks failed to make an appearance in Game 5. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a double-double on the night, with 34 points and 12 rebounds. In addition, teammates Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday combined for 44 points, while Brook Lopez and Pat Connaughton tallied up 25 more.
If Milwaukee had been on the winning end of this one, the Nets would have had nothing to be ashamed of, especially considering their aforementioned predicament. But for one man to be allowed to go absolutely ballistic while two other guys past their primes (Jeff Green and Blake Griffin) reign baskets to the point that the Bucks lose anyway, there is no better word to describe the scenario than “pathetic.”
Looking back at KD, he has now reminded everyone of just how valuable of a player he is: one that grinds for a win every game while saving his peak potential for when his team truly needs it most. As a result, he has reignited the hearts of those who claim that he is one of the best in the entire league.
Game 6 could very well have a huge hand in how the Bucks move forward as a franchise.
