NBA teams that should buy low on Kemba Walker: New York Knicks

Ah, the New York Knicks. Before you laugh me off, here me out for a minute. The Knicks made huge strides in their progression as a franchise this past season. Even though the Knicks had a disappointing ending in the postseason, there were some great signs for this team this season.

However, one big hold in the depth chart for the team this season was at the point guard position. Even though the acquisition of Derrick Rose helped fill that void, he’s not a player that they can lean on consistently at this point in his career (if he is re-signed).

Taking a chance on Kemba wouldn’t be the worst of ideas, especially if they miss out on some of the other big-name free-agent point guards. The Knicks desperately missed a playmaking guard against the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs.

They needed someone that could get a good shot in crunch time. Kemba is exactly a player that has proven he can do that in the past and did so in spurts with the Celtics. If the Knicks fail on some of the other big-name point guard free agents, they should absolutely kick tires on Kemba during the offseason.
