12. New York Knicks (via San Antonio) – James Bouknight, G, UCONN

This is where we see a big move in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft. The New York Knicks have elected to move up in the draft to No. 12 by moving their two mid-to-late first-round picks to the San Antonio Spurs for the selection.

With this pick, the Knicks will use it to try and address the point guard position, which has plagued this team over the last few seasons. The selection for the Knicks will be James Bouknight, a versatile guard prospect out of Connecticut.

The hope is that Bouknight will be able to grow into the long-term answer at the point guard position for the next few years, which is why they were willing to give up so much capital to move up.
