Brooklyn Nets priority No. 3: Trade Joe Harris

Joe Harris was one of the best shooters in the regular season. In the playoffs, not so much. One could argue (millions could argue) his complete failure to knock down open 3’s in the Bucks’ series cost the Nets upwards of a 10-point victory in Games 3 and 7.

Sadly, this is a trend. His career regular-season PER (Player Efficiency Rating) as a Net is 13.0 and his playoff PER is 7.2. As a decent defender and rebounder, Harris wasn’t a complete zero, but he was close to it on offense.

It’s not like a Ben Simmons-76ers situation, which is completely FUBAR, but he hasn’t proven to be a valuable playoff guy. Maybe a team desperate for regular season shooting will offer a nice pick and a quality backup for him.

The other factor here is money. The Nets ownership is made of money, but will probably like to pay less than a zillion dollars in luxury tax fees. This is just the way of life, especially when you consider De’Andre Jordan is due almost $20 million over the next two years (and his contract plus his relationship with KD and Kyrie make him untraceable.)
