Brooklyn Nets priority No. 4: Develop their young players

This might be technically more of a 2021-22 season undertaking than strictly offseason, but it can begin immediately. The near-historic load management the Nets undertook with their superstars this season almost paid off in a huge way.

It did for KD, who played every second of his Game 5 masterpiece and Game 7 overtime classic, where, despite going 0-6 in OT, he was clearly the best player on the court. Clearly, load management is here to stay for this team, more so after KD and Harden commit to playing in the Olympics this summer.

I’d be shocked if any of the big three play more than 60 games next season. That leaves plenty of time for Landry Shamet, Nicolas Claxton, and the other young players to begin working on their games and schematic fit to develop into players worth coming off the bench in the playoffs, and potentially starting, should more injuries haunt the Nets in the 2022 playoffs.
