After what they’ve overcome in the first two rounds of the NBA Playoffs, the stage is now set for the Milwaukee Bucks to win a championship.

The Milwaukee Bucks‘ road to the Eastern Conference Finals couldn’t have been scripted any better than it has thus far.

In the first round of the playoffs, the Bucks managed to exorcise a demon from last season, in the Miami Heat, and then overcame the Brooklyn Nets, who many expected to win the East, in the second round.

Even though Milwaukee didn’t exactly look like many hoped they would in victory over the Nets in the Eastern Conference semifinals, the fact that they prevailed is a huge step in the right direction for this team. And, quite frankly, looking at the landscape of the rest of the playoffs, the Bucks are now the favorites to win the championship.

Though there is still work to be done against the Atlanta Hawks (who are better than they’ll be credited for), it’s now time for the Bucks to win it all. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and the rest of the supporting cast have proven they can persevere when needed and even head coach Mike Budenholzer has done a fairly well job in the postseason.

It’s time for the Milwuakee Bucks to finish the job

Have the Bucks been ideal in every facet of their game? Absolutely not. I’m not sure any team has in this year’s playoffs. This isn’t to overlook the Hawks by any means, but the Bucks are simply the better team on paper.

And this year’s Bucks have proven that they are capable of overcoming in the midst of vulnerabliilty. And there’s no better example than how the team reacted after a missed opportunity in Game 5.

After blowing a 17-point lead in Game 5, in which Kevin Durant went absolutely beserk to give the Nets a 3-2 series lead, the Bucks responded to win Game 6 and to outlast the Nets’ best shot in Game 7 – which included more heroics from Durant that sent the game to overtime.

Eight more wins is what stands in the way of Giannis’ etching his name in NBA history, the Bucks winning their second champinpship in franchise history and their first since the 1971 season.

The stage is set for Milwuakee. The moment is there to have a storybook ending to a great season, one that was sparked by disappointment in last year’s postseason.
