NBA Trade Rumors: Pascal Siakam could emerge as a trade target for the Golden State Warriors this offseason.

Heading into the NBA offseason, the Golden State Warriors are expected to be a team that will have plenty of versatility to make some upgrades to their roster. And if one ideal target arises, you can bet that the Warriors will explore all avenues.

One interesting report suggests that one player the Warriors could target as they attempt to surround Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green with added talent is Pascal Siakam.

The Warriors are heading into the 2021 NBA Draft with two lottery picks (No. 7 and 14) and should be active on draft night.

Pascal Siakam might be the ideal trade candidate for the Golden State Warriors

Over the last year (dating back to Kevin Durant’s departure from the team), names such as Bradley Beal, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, and others have been linked as ideal candidates for the Warriors to target as they look to climb their way back up the Western Conference hierarchy.

Although, there might not be a target that makes more sense for the Warriors than Siakam.

Siakam is a player that has proven he can be a No. 2 or 3 option on a championship team – even though he struggled as a true No. 1 over the course of the last two seasons. With the Warriors, Siakam wouldn’t be asked to play the same role as he did with the Raptors this past season and would be able to operate with much more comfort by playing next to Curry, Draymond, and Klay.

If nothing else, it’s something that the Warriors should explore. Who knows if the Raptors are ready to blow up their roster, but I’m not sure what I’d rather have if I was in the situation that Toronto is in heading into the offseason – Siakam or the Wiseman and the No. 7 overall pick (in addition to their top 5 pick).

Should the Warriors manage to pry Siakam away from the Raptors, they’d immediately emerge as a championship contender once again in the West. A top 4 of Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Siakam can’t be beat by many, if any, other teams in the league.
