NBA teams best positioned to acquire Damian Lillard: Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers don’t have as many assets as the other teams involved in this article, but if Lillard demands a trade to Los Angeles they could make it happen. Los Angeles could build a package around Anthony Davis and Talen-Horton Tucker (after he’s re-signed by the team this offseason), especially if there is a long-term timeline for a Lillard trade.
That might be enough to get a deal done considering that Davis is on the same wavelength as a player that Lillard is. Davis doesn’t have a no-trade clause and wouldn’t have a say in whether or not he gets traded for Lillard.
Though, considering that he shares an agent with LeBron, that would be a bit tricky. Nevertheless, if this is something that LeBron wants to happen, there’s a chance that it could. That said, I find it highly unlikely that the Lakers would want to trade Davis. And if they are unwilling to do so, there’s no way Lillard is being traded to Los Angeles.
