NBA: 5 wild draft-day trade ideas that would change the league’s landscape
By Kyle McKee
New Orleans decides to say goodbye to Brandon Ingram and start building around Zion
New Orleans receives: Terrance Ross and the 5th and 8th pick
Orlando Magic receives: Brandon Ingram and the 10th pick
The last deal I’ll throw out there is an interesting one between the New Orleans Pelicans and Orlando Magic.
With the emergence of Zion this past season, the Pelicans need to do everything in their power to build around him and make him happy.
For any NBA fan watching New Orleans this year, it’s clear that Ingram and Zion don’t fit well together. Their games just don’t work well together.
It’s similar to how it’s clear that the best version of Ben Simmons is on a team without Joel Embiid, and vice-versa. The same can be said of Zion and Ingram.
So, it makes sense for New Orleans to move on from Ingram to grab a guy like Terrance Ross, one of the league’s best three-point shooters and a guy that would fit perfectly alongside Zion.
The only problem with this deal is that the Magic might not be willing to include the fifth and eighth picks along with Ross to get Brandon Ingram and the 10th pick.
Despite being an all-star, and a fine young player, Ingram hasn’t proved that his play contributes to any kind of winning. With that being said, the Magic might not be willing to deal two top 10 picks, so they might just throw in the eighth pick and Ross to get Ingram and the 10th pick.
