Five realistic offseason targets to help the New York Knicks improve their roster. 

The New York Knicks made huge strides this past season as a franchise and as a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference. Both RJ Barrett and Julius Randle made strides individually and appear like possible foundational pieces for the Knicks moving forward.

As great as the 2020-21 NBA season was for New York, in which they made a return to the playoffs, the real work will now begin for the front office. New York is now a playoff team but will now need to figure out how to make the leap from a mere playoff threat to a contender in the conference.

And that’s what the offseason is for. New York heads into the summer with the hopes of making the leap from playoff contender to championship contender.

Considering that the Knicks will likely be looking for help in the backcourt, the majority of these offseason targets will feature help at the guard position. Heading into the offseason, we explore five realistic targets as the Knicks look to improve the roster.
