Three reasons why acquiring Collin Sexton would equate to an offseason win for the Miami Heat.
For the Miami Heat, it’s of the top priority that the team find a way to significantly upgrade the roster and find some help – especially offensively – for Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. One reported player of interest for the Heat is Collin Sexton.
Sexton is a player that could be traded during the offseason because the Cleveland Cavaliers aren’t sold on giving him a max extension, a contract that he likely deserves, and one that he will probably be able to get on the open market next offseason.
Instead of losing him for nothing, it would be wise for the Cavs to try and shop him during the offseason to see what the market is for him. And, quite frankly, if Cleveland is hellbent on moving on from him, it would be smart for them to trade him definitely.
Sexton, coming off his third season in the league, averaged 24 points, four assists, and three rebounds on 48 percent shooting from the field and 37 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s gotten better every season of his career thus far and is ready to cash in on his productive first three years.
Heading into the offseason, we explore three reasons why the Heat should absolutely be interested in a potential trade of Sexton and why exactly it would equate to an upgrade and an offseason win for the franchise.
