Why Collin Sexton makes sense for the Miami Heat: His offensive skill set is something Miami doesn’t have on its roster
With all due respect to the guards currently on the Heat’s roster, none of them are as offensively talented and efficient as Sexton. Acquiring Sexton would give the Heat a guard that they can ask to get a bucket when needed which would effectively take the night-to-night offensive pressure off of Jimmy.
The Heat haven’t had a guard as offensively talented as Sexton since the days of Dwyane Wade and would give this team more offensive options. Let’s also not forget that Sexton shot 37 percent from 3 and would be a threat from all three levels offensively. While his defense is something that would have to improve, it’s certainly something that could happen under the Heat mentorship.
Especially this past season, the Heat lived and died on Jimmy or Bam’s ability to go off on the offensive end – especially with Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson taking minor steps back in their production. Sexton would alleviate all those issues from this past season.
