Why Collin Sexton makes sense for the Miami Heat: Sexton Fits On Both Jimmy’s And Bam’s Timelines

Perhaps the biggest reason why the Heat should explore a potential trade for Sexton revolves around the fact that he fits in both Jimmy’s and Bam’s timelines. Even though Sexton is just 22 years old, he’s a win-now player. At the same rate, he’s still only 22 years old and would fit in a Bam build down the line.

Miami would be effectively exhausting all resources to ensure a competitive team for Jimmy and locking up a young player that they can continue to develop and one that would be part of a future build with Bam after Jimmy.

Sexton as a target makes sense for plenty of teams around the league. Although, there might not be a team that needs to make a move more than the Heat. Considering where Miami is in terms of assets, Sexton might be the most realistic big-name target during the offseason. And making such a move would be a big win for the franchise.
