Deandre Ayton serves as the leading rebounding threat for the Suns and plays a vital role in their offense even though he isn’t one of the main scoring options. He is capable of scoring double figures on a nightly basis but his physical presence on the boards is more valuable to the Suns in this series.
His role is even more important now more than ever due to the injury suffered by Dario Saric and the lack of size the Suns have on their roster. The Bucks can easily overwhelm a team with their size with Antetokounmpo, Brooks Lopez, Bobby Portis, and P.J. Tucker. When Ayton was relegated to the bench with foul trouble in Game 3, the Bucks took full advantage as they ended up outrebounding the Suns 47-36 with 13 of them being on the offensive end.
