Philadelphia 76ers: 3 all-star players that could be targeted using Ben Simmons
Philadelphia 76ers’ possible trade targets: D’Angelo Russell, Minnesota Timberwolves
D’Angelo Russell is probably the one target that would be easily attainable for the Sixers. The big question, however, is whether or not he is a player that would move the needle enough for Morey and the Sixers. It would likely depend on what other pieces the Wolves are willing to include in this potential package.
I find it hard to believe that the Sixers would be willing to make a Simmons for Russell straight-up trade. That said, Russell is a former all-star and fits the bill of what the Sixers could be looking for. He’s a dynamic offensive player that would fill a void at the guard position, but the issue is that he’s also not a true point guard.
For this to work, the Sixers would need to find a point guard elsewhere in order to complete a balanced starting lineup. Either way, if nothing else and all else fails, Russell is certainly a player that is absolutely gettable for this franchise this offseason.
