NBA Draft prospect comparisons: Keon Johnson – Talen Horten-Tucker

Offensively, Johnson is probably two years away from being a year away from finding any semblance of a reliable offensive game.

While the Tennessee Volunteers did play a slow, sleep-inducing offense under Rick Barnes, Johnson hit splits of 49/27/70, which is a bit of a yikes situation.

Johnson also will need to work on his dribbling ability. He is currently very loose with his handle, which will be another detriment to him seeing consistent court time.

Coming out of Iowa State, Horton-Tucker’s offensive game was pretty much as putrid as Johnson’s. Horton-Tucker’s splits of 47/30/62 match up really well with Johnson’s 49/27/70.

Unlike Johnson though, Horton-Tucker is not nearly as gifted physically as a defender, so that may be the one saving grace for Johnson early on in his career.

Johnson, like Horton-Tucker, will be a long-term developmental project who may not really ever pan out to be much more than a situational role player off a bench.
