Pros: The New York Knicks have the cap flexibility that they would need

Lillard is slated to make $43 million in the 2021-22 season which is one of the highest salaries in the league, but this season he made $31 million and the Knick will have no problem assuming his salary.

This summer with an approximate $50 million in cap space, by also trading away some of the younger player assets on the team and their contracts, they can easily take on Lillard’s contract and still have an excess of $30 million or more to spend on free agency. That would still put them in the top 5 of cap space this summer.

To round out the roster they will have to attempt to get premier free agents to join the tandem of Randle and Lillard. Players like Kawhi Leonard, DeMar Derozan, Lonzo Ball, and Norman Powell will have to take precedence.
